I plan on submitting a shop order this week...

Can you verify that the middle of the hold down protrusion on your bedside is right about 3 1/4" above the lower flange of the bed side rail? There's probably not too many differences in an M809 bed vs M939 but want to make sure.
I get 3 inches on mine, passenger side. Driver's side is 2 3/4 inches. Both front-most tie down protrusion.

Hers 1984 AM General 923A1 was MDANG also was a Kansas refurbished unit in 2013

Check the engine tags on the KS RSMS truck. A lot of those got new engines....

I made a weird bracket that straddles the back of a cargo hold down to mount my VRC antenna base and antenna element. I mounted it to the passenger side so it wouldn't interfere with unloading a full size spare tire and because the radio is also on the passenger side.

Next up is to wire up the aerial and install the radio under the seat!
The military actually made a mount like this, I believe I have one.

I found a nail in my tire between a tread block. I'm not happy. Thinking that the carcass is pretty thick and the length of nail was not known, I marked it and gave it a yank. It was too long and air came out after pulling it...f@ck...

How would you guys fix this? Patch? plug?

I prefer slime or a liquid tire sealer helps balance and prevent water getting in the belts of the tire.

Replaced the fuel tank on my M813.
From A Tale of Two Fuel Tanks we determined that the replacement tank was from an M39, which required "some" modification for use in an 809 series. Welded and tapped two, 2 inch steel fillets for the fuel vent system. Don't know what the paint on that tank was but needed a wire wheel and sanding disk to get thru to bare metal.
My first time with a MIG welder (and it shows) but they're attached and I didn't burn through the tank.
Duplicated the old vent lines using 1/4 inch brake line, 1/4 inch tube compression fittings and the old collars and elbows.
Fabricated the fuel pickup from 1/2 inch copper pipe brazed into a pipe thread adapter screwed into a pipe thread elbow which was brazed to a 8 inch round steel fillet. Had a pipe thread fuel line made up. Reasonably sure I have a vapor proof seal, truck starts on the first pull provided the engine's warm, love that block heater.
Replaced one of the tank straps with new old stock as the old one had rotted out. After everything was installed and 5 gallons of fuel added, found a pinhole leak where the drain collar is welded to the tank. Should have filled with water first, would have been an easy brazing fix. Now I have to drain the tank and use JB Fuel Tank Weld.

Modified the battery box to accept two new Silver OTRS-F31SX 950 CCA batteries. Alas they were too tall, had to remove the rails to clear the step cover. No big deal, the rails had all but rotted out. The batteries fit perfectly between the tie downs and didn't completely block the drains.
Found an electrical lead I'd missed before, Wire #569. From 7070301 Circuit Numbers pamphlet #569 is the COLD WEATHER START FEED (12V) TO SW(S2). Twelve Volts? Is there a 12V post on the military 24 V batteries?

The military uses 12v batteries also hooked like you have here. Just hook that wire to the positive terminal of the battery that it's directly over and that's 12v. Your fan switch for the heater if you have one gets 12v for the low speed.

Being you've installed two batteries, the intake manifold heater's feed wire (#569) attaches to the positive-post clamp of your 12V battery closest to ground , ie; the one whose negative post goes to the truck frame .. This guarantees you will only get 12V to the heater .. 24V will burn it out

yep that tank was sure a mess ! .. Always had a coating of rust and crud inside, had to have a new filter every time it went to work. The dust control concoction the town carried in the big plastic tank that was on its back rotted everything it touched on that truck , was worse that they never washed truck .. Although they patched fuel tank at some point, it always seemed "wet" from day one of my ownership, but no noticeable drip. The opaque fuel may have been from the amount of biocide and fuel treatment it got in an attempt to clear the nasties from the tank, but the fuel certainly got aged and truck sat for quite some time with the additives.. Apparently none of those factors helped it one bit :(

Adding a new hard top, new drivers window and custom modified military mount for the ham radio antenna… weather is putting a damper on this project as it was negative degrees out the last 2 nights but they are painted and ready to install… paint wasn’t even dry yet in the picture I promise it’s not gloss haha
