What I've had good luck with including a similar problem is I sand the area, derust it with rust removing acids, clean it and apply some JB weld and sand smooth again, then paint. Haven't had any repairs like that ever leak again.
Probably not Sean Filner, his is a tan M1078 with an S280 shelter chained down to the bed, not an M1079. I've only ever seen one fmtv out and about with the exception of at air shows and Army Trucks Inc
I can attest to that. Before I realized this, I had a 13 year old tire disintegrate at 10 miles an hour. Didn't realize I had such an old tire. Now mine are 4-7 years old, and will not go older then 9 before replacement.
I wouldn't even consider a seat covers for the standard seats because they're the crappiest seats in the world! 1 inch of foam on top of a steel plate only comfortable for about 15 minutes. I have two nice seats that are comfortable gray leather and I'm selling because I got a whole different...
They won't go above the upper frame rail, at least that's my experience maxing the flex out of mine, purposely twisting it on a couple of boulders in the desert. although I will admit there was only about 800 lb of gear in the back
