    Deuce year and engine matching

I believe that when they upgraded the m35A2 to the A3 the were using old trucks. Use 2 to build 1. It would still be the same year as the donor truck. The A3 was never a new truck , just an upgrade. If it starts life as a 1978 , stays that forever...

    HMMWV turn signal woes REDUX

Does your turn signal have 4 way flash ? If so does it blink then. ? If not then it’s not the led’s and may just be a bad flasher. I have the exact same issue on my funvee , won’t work than just starts. Had that issue on my Duce and found it was the turn signal arm wasn’t proplery grounded. I...

    6.5 didn’t want to turn over 😟

Went out to move the funvee and all I got was a clunk. So thinking the battery’s were low , left the lights on (good thing I walk the dog at night 😉) so I jumped it with my Duce and still only got a clunk. ( starter contacting flex plate ) , so ok went about my day and went back to try again...

    HUMVEE Radiator replacement

I had ordered a new radiator over a year ago and just started to install it. All the nutserts are metric 🤨 and not 100% in the correct spot. That’s fine , in and out 3 times to get all the correct bolts in the right spots and of corse the inlet is off by 2”. Spent a little time at Napa and found...

    HUMVEE Radiator replacement

What a disaster. First when getting ready to pull the hood , I disconnected the hood prop and a gust of wind pulled it out of my hand and went fdw and cracked the fiber glass where the mounts are. Good thing I got a spare hood. Got the radiator in bolted and it took 2 to pull it out , heavy as...

    Waste Oil in MEP802/3

I spent 40+ years choking on that crap. That’s why I never tried using old refrigeration oil ( mineral or poe ) in my Duce. It would just destroy everything. Especially if it had any acid from a burn out. F that job. I’m retired now 🥳 and don’t miss it one bit.

Single out on stock wheels and tires

I singled out my Duce years ago and used rims from a M-135. Flipped the hubs ( I used a press for the studs) and used 11.00X20 tires. The 11.00X 20 tires will fit in the spare tire carrier but won’t work with the M-135 rim. The offset prevents it from pulling up high enough to lock.

Turn signals only work once truck is warm

Make sure the turn signal switch on the column has a good ground. Mine has the same issue but found that moving the arm on the column would start it working

1952 M135 GMC Inline 6 Hard to Crank Over

Are you sure the carb isn’t flooding the motor and causing to to hydrolock ??

HMMWV No Power to TCM, No Transmission Light

I would look under the truck at the wire harness. I found mine was not tied up right and was banging against the driveshaft.

    Broken fuel tank

I dropped the tank to check the pickup screen and found the buffer box around the pickup was broken loose , anyone else have this issue ?

    SAE Lubricants

I had to look up yellow metal so I figured I would post it. You see them in gear boxes and machine shops all of the time. Here’s the story. Yellow metals refer to a category of alloys characterized by their distinct yellowish color, primarily comprising brass and bronze. These metals are...

    Electrical Overheating M35A2

I don’t think the stock alt puts out more than 65amps. The major current draw is starting. You can turn off the switch and the truck still runs. No batts ? No problem just get 10 guys to push it fast enough to spin the motor and you’re good. Melting a disconnect ?!?! I would think that you got a...

    HMMWV starts then stalls

Air filter plugged up ? Mushroom cap down to low. ?

Starting new thread for same old problem.....

That truck should have a non vented cap. but should have a vent line to the air cleaner. No way it’s jumped time. It would star barking fire out the carb when trying to start. If it will start and run for 20 min. at idle without dying , it shouldn’t be the coil. But die under load ? That sounds...
