Northeast folks... good luck in todays storm

Only got about a foot in Central Mass...just a dusting. Didn't lose power. The M813 started right up after about 5 hours on a block heater and 10 minutes with a heat gun down the air filter yap. A lot less vibration noise for some reason...

KY beating a dead horse. insurance

I went with Hagerty in Massachusetts for my M813. No towing, hauling, off roading or daily driving with a 2500 mile per year limit. Insured for $5000, costs about $205/year which includes membership in their classic car club which offers 100 miles free towing per incident. Limitations work for...

    T138 sprag replacement and rebuild

Wow, how prophetic! Experienced the exact same symptoms with my M813 yesterday trying to climb an icy incline over a stone wall in my backyard. Although the rear wheels were spinning the front wheels wouldn't engage. Temps were in the teens and my gearbox oil was like Carmel syrup. Looking...

    Fuel Return Line Pressure?

I think I can put this thread to bed. The initial problem may have been a combination of bad fuel from a rotted out fuel tank and a clogged PT pump check valve. After cleaning the check valve and replacing the tank the old girl starts on the first pull and will rev past the danger zone if I...

    NHC 250 Block Heater Inst.(PICS)

Installed mine in the rear most passenger side plate with the heating element pointing aft. Easiest location, didn't have to move anything and it keeps my block toasty. However, the instruction photo implies there are two types of heaters depending on which port you use. One where the element...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Modified the battery box to accept two new Silver OTRS-F31SX 950 CCA batteries. Alas they were too tall, had to remove the rails to clear the step cover. No big deal, the rails had all but rotted out. The batteries fit perfectly between the tie downs and didn't completely block the drains...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Replaced the fuel tank on my M813. From A Tale of Two Fuel Tanks we determined that the replacement tank was from an M39, which required "some" modification for use in an 809 series. Welded and tapped two, 2 inch steel fillets for the fuel vent system. Don't know what the paint on that tank...
