My '85 does the exact same thing, for about 10-15 seconds.
When I slightly increase RPM, then Alt 1 light goes out immediately!!

Hi,
Just wondering as this item can no longer be found anywhere overhere, and even if, then hugely overpriced for a pair of badly damaged ones and thus I would like to cut my own in genuine good quality thick reinfoced rubber.
Does anyone have a template or drawing with measurements of the...
Not intended to re-lauch this debate, but the "older diesel engines" where conceived to work with the formerly high sulfer diesel fuels, which are a lot "greasier" than today's ULS diesel fuels.
I do remember diesel fuel really being a lot greasier back then... we would smear it on metal parts...
6years late in reading this... apology, but can't read it all!
Regret to say that re-arching leaf springs is definitely a skill which is not available anywhere in Europe... when it comes to anything even touching on customizing or upgrading vehicles, Europe is really not the place to be... if...
It was my first time as well doing a Saginaw rebuild and it is actually easy and I really enjoyed it.
The one thing to watch out for is the white teflon seal on the piston as it may be easily damaged when forcing the piston int the housing... follow the recommendations as shown in the pictures...
Hi 1Love,
Been installed since quite a while now. Works perfect and smooth... just like a Saginaw PS does!!
I love the US PS... they operate so very easy... not like German or others, which still have quite some resistence built in... just a matter of preference I guess.

Anyway, I found all rebuild kits at RockAuto. I don't have enough experience to say anything about the quatlity of...
That's a very valid question! This is a brand new unused generator.
But I'll have to ow you an answer for now, it's too early to reply yet... no damage is being done, other than discovering, learning, understanding and a little experiment.
And if the outcome is unsatisfactory, the entire system...

Hi Mogman,
Thank you for your clear reply, I think I understand now how it works.
This particular Niehoff generator has 2 stator windings and both output + and both - are bridged togeter on the outside of the housing. This gen delivers 28V 400A.
From what I can see inside, there are 2 stator...

Looking for a complete disassembly and assembly instruction for NIEHOFF Generator of type 76761 ?
I am having difficulty removing the bearing cover on the pulley side as it seems to jam on the bearing or something?
Do I need to use a bearing puller to get this cover off?
Any helpfull...
Just came across this article in "Autobild", a well reputed German auto magazine:

I have a box full of these injectors with nozzles, somewhere between 20 and 40 I think.
On some packaging it says "Continental Motors Corp" and these are dated 1962, so from some older US Military vehicles...
Hi all,

Bendix Injector NSN 2910-00-854-4428 ( 10-207910-5, 115GC16A, 10899109 )
I understand this is used on military trucks as an intake preheater device for cold weather starting...
