    CUCV M1009 temperature gauge

You can buy any universal temp gauge from the auto parts store or summit. It’s not ideal but there is a plug at the water pump that you can easily use to mount the sending unit. The ideal solution would be to mount it behind the thermostat housing either with an hmmwv crossover or I’ve seen...

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

Well I guess I’ll have to shave the frame a touch and get that downpipe in there finally! also interesting how you did the rear over the axle, I’ve got the same shock inboard setup going on and it looked like a tight squeeze. Ditching the bump stop brackets I guess fixes that space issue.

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

That’s a tight squeeze! I bought a diamond eye turbo back and gave up for now I trying to fit the downpipe inside the frame and just put on my external frame exhaust. I was really trying not to trim the frame at all but it has that bump out right where the downpipe fits. The front drive shaft...

    LS Swap into M1028 LQ9 and 4l80E

Thanks for your input, very helpful.

    LS Swap into M1028 LQ9 and 4l80E

A switch is a pretty simple solution and let’s be honest, most won’t be using low range all that often so having a switch next to the t case lever doesn’t seem all that hokey to me.

    LS Swap into M1028 LQ9 and 4l80E

I’ve read you can just put the 4low wiring to a switch as it just gets grounded in its original application.

Got my hx35 m1009 up and running again

It’s from quadstar tuning, they make one for the NA lower intake manifold also.

Got my hx35 m1009 up and running again

It wasn’t. I had a 6.5 turbo on for about 6 years and would advise against wasting the money on one and just go for an hx35w. I still need to fiddle with some stuff on my new setup but overall pulls much better than the gm4 turbo it replaced.

Got my hx35 m1009 up and running again

I think I’m going to turn the fuel up just a hair but overall this turbo spools so much faster than my old gm4. https://youtube.com/shorts/pw_3wy2PbYo?feature=share

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

I guess if it’s only seeing pavement or never flexing much than that big of a tire will fit without rubbing. My 35” tires rubbed the cab side when fully flexed with a 2” lift. I had to trim trim trim and even then it’ll still contact if I’m also full locked and stuffed.

    6.5 Turbo Exhaust

I just started fitting a diamond eye downpipe inside the frame, started by cutting the rear flange area off about 4" from the end....then cutting where the bend that goes under the vehicle is....and it still wont fit in place so I'll be cutting a bit higher up probably above the frame area to...

I GUESS MY M1008'S Turbocharger is too small

The drive pressure is much lower with the hx35w than a stock 6.5 turbo which means more safe boost. I also ran 12 psi without any issues on my 6.2 with a gm-4 turbo. My EGT really never got much over 900* pre turbo.

I GUESS MY M1008'S Turbocharger is too small

Hx35w is a 12cm housing, most of the 6.5 guys actually recommend a 14cm exhaust housing for egt and drive pressure reduction.

I GUESS MY M1008'S Turbocharger is too small

just buy a knock off hx35 off of alibaba, equally as cheap.

I GUESS MY M1008'S Turbocharger is too small

Any specs on this turbo that you’ve installed? 500c* isn’t bad, 7psi is also not bad. I see about 900*F and 10-12psi on my stock head gasket 6.2 with a gm4 turbo. I’m right in the middle of installing an hx35w and the factory outlet on that turbo is only 2.5” (I’ve replaced it with an...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Finally found the correct fittings for my turbo oil feed. I stupidly ordered a conversion fitting that was for a stock 6.5 line but thought it was just a -6an fitting, NOPE. exhaust should be here tomorrow so I can finish this thing up.

I did the same thing but bolted the plate in. These are the only pics I have
