Assuming you want to maintain the military look?
Anyways, Ancra still exists as a company, maybe they can point you in the right direction: Cargo Fittings, Nets, & Straps Assuming the name isn't a coincidence.
Yokohama GEOLANDAR MT G003 all_ Season Radial Tire-37X12.50R17 on Method Race Wheels 105 Beadlock Matte Black 17x8.5" 8x6.5", 0mm offset 4.75" Backspace.
I went civilian wheels/tires for the convenience, plus even with 8 tires none had much tread.
So, my 1097 came as a 3 speed. To improve the top speed me and my mechanic decided to upgrade to a 4 speed. Prices on these are stupid, just like all humvee parts so we made the decision to look for an auction vehicle that was busted up but looked like it had the pieces we needed.
Found...
Soundproofcow got back to me, but all they could recommend is their Quiet Barrier, which is essentially mass loaded vinyl. I had planned on using this product I found on Amazon for the footwells and up the sides, also an MLV. They're similar though the QB is 1/4" and the other stuff is 1/8"...
Found some options, with more accurate prices
Ideally, I would like to cover the entire bed from the back tail gate to the dog house with one piece, making cuts for the shape and around the shifter. For mine, this is 51.5" x 108"ish. Once you get to the back seats the width changes to less...
Pic to show height of helmet top. The other helmet top out there is a little lower.
Wrecked humvees go for $2k or so on govplanet, depending on condition. Expect destroyed front or rear, wheels that are bent and no longer move, etc. Loose parts that may or may not belong to the vehicle could...
I think I'm gonna go the horse mat route for the center area. I'll get a long piece that will reach from the rear gate all the way to the dog house, cut for that area. I'll use glue and put velcro on the floor and the bottom of the mat. I do a bit of off-roading and I don't need 100 lbs of...
I tackled sound insulation in my M35 and achieved amazing results. However, the humvee is a little different and I'm not sure how to proceed. I am considering a sound deadening paint and a bedliner known for sound insulation properties. Another consideration is just how much I want to spend -...
My 1097 came with a 3 speed so I swapped in a 4 speed with overdrive so I can drive highway speeds.
Might consider brush guard - there are several different versions available.
If you plan on owning it long, consider going with a slightly different wheel/tire combo: 37x12.50R17 cost about half...
The first two pics are stock pics to let people know what I'm talking about. The second two pics show the current pads.
The subject came up because the cab vibration appears to be more noticeable, and we think the additional weight on the mounts might be a cause. I'm not kidding when I say...
So, my cab mounts look like they're original or decayed enough to appear that way. Finding new mounts isn't difficult, but I've modified my cab, above the doorline and it is much, much heavier than the original cab - probably around 10x heavier.
I was thinking of doubling up the front cab...
Grats! I've been to lots of car shows with mine, never gotten an award but have gotten many heart-felt compliments. First show I ever attended I didn't think anyone would pay attention, but I ended up talking about the Deuce the entire day. I let anyone sit in the cab, big hit with kids. I...
I put lockouts on the front mainly to improve fuel efficiency.
I have personally been in situations where lockouts on either back axle would've been very bad for me - unplanned like all the best accidents.
Friend of mine is a professional mechanic, mostly cars but still knows a boat load more about all mechanics than I do. He got a medium truck at an auction, bought it for the engine to swap but it came with a Hydro-Max which he installed on his M61A2 (with air brakes). He suggested I do the...
Friend of mine got a hydro max system from a medium truck he won at auction and put it on his M61A2 (5 ton). He's the one that wants to put the same sort of system on my deuce. He struck gold with that medium truck - got at an auction for a grand, and it had probably $7k+ in parts including a...
