My LMTV has a Neihoff 1509-1, 100 amp alternator. What other alternators will work on my 3126 with no modifications?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!

Which 200 & 260 amp units would work? The newer 100 amp unit is the N1511-1 but there are 200 amp and 260 amp Niehoff units as well. There's no direct fit civilian alternator for these vehicles at the moment.
There's the N1224 Dual Voltage alternator, that's the 260 AMP, it uses a different bracket howeverWhich 200 & 260 amp units would work?

Thanks for the information. Is the bracket off the shelf or does it need to be custom built? There's the N1224 Dual Voltage alternator, that's the 260 AMP, it uses a different bracket however
I have one off an original engine I can send some pictures, but some people fabricate their own. Thanks for the information. Is the bracket off the shelf or does it need to be custom built?
If it’s not too much trouble I would like to see the pictures of the bracket.I have one off an original engine I can send some pictures, but some people fabricate their own.

I'm the seller on ebay and they're take offs that went through my local Neihoff certified rebuilder. They passed all tests and rated grade B for cosmetic decencies. I believe I have one that came off a crated engine but I will have to check.Where is a good place to buy a good N1224? I see them on ebay used. But you don't know how used/abused they are.
I have the brackets for the 260/300. I had a bunch of the HIMARS variants spun up. $275
Do you have the v-belt or the serpentine belt setup? The v-belt is a goat-rope but DM me if you want to talk about a kit for that. I know where you can lay hands on one.
The serpentine belt setup you can just use the HIMARS bracket and bolt on the 260/300 units, but you still have to move the upper shock mount out about 3/4" to clear the body of the larger alternator. Cut the huck bolts, copy the existing spacer behind it out of 1/4" plate (x3) and stack them behind the shock mount along with the original spacer and use longer grade-8 hardware to bolt it back up.
Or you can find the replacement shock mounts the Army supplied with the upgrade kits to the 260.
The 100's were very problematic and too small for the battery bank that is perpetually dead in the Motorpool due to vast amounts of time sitting and waiting for training or deployment and it kills them. The 260 (actually a 400 if you rate it like the 100 is rated) is 72 lbs and they are built like tanks. Never seen actually fail. SPC Wank usually just leaves the Nord-Locks out and they fall off the truck.

I would be interested in the bracket for the N1224 alternator. I can make the plates for the shock mount.I have the brackets for the 260/300. I had a bunch of the HIMARS variants spun up. $275

Unfortunately no kits, I just have remanufactured units and the bracket added on the 3116@that_one_alternator_guy any kits for a 3116 upgrade?
