Mark your calendars! The annual Texas MV Rally will be held Friday, March 20, 2026 to Sunday, March 22, 2026. We'll camp in the same location as last year. That Saturday, we'll convoy to the Living History event at the Museum of the American G.I.

Everyone is welcome (with or without a MV).

Camping:

Our camp site is in a field off FM 974 in Bryan, Texas.

The location is 1.6 miles north of Texas 21 on FM 974. Look for the Steel Soldiers banner on the west side of FM 974. This location is near Aggieland Safari.

You can arrive any time after 14:00 on Friday, March 20.

We dry camp in a field. Plan for and bring all of your meals and camping supplies, except for lunch on Saturday which you can buy at the museum. You will have access to a water hose and there will be porta potties at the campsite. There are no other amenities. Also, make sure to take all of your supplies and trash when you leave.

There is a flat fee of $30 per family. This fee applies whether you choose to stay one night or both nights. Please bring cash and pay Lincoln (@nofearnohope).

Convoy and Museum of the American G.I.:

We'll get up Saturday morning, March 21, for a convoy to the Museum of the American G.I. (Museum’s website: https://americangimuseum.org/). It is approximately 30 miles from our campsite to the museum and we typically have a police escort. At the museum, we’ll line our trucks up for display and enjoy the annual Living History event before convoying back to the campsite mid-afternoon.

Saturday afternoon at the campsite is a great time to hang-out with friends (new and old)! There's usually a bonfire Saturday night and a few tall tales. Everyone departs for home Sunday morning.

Buy / Sell / Trade:

I'll start a buy, sell or trade thread for the rally.

You may bring anything to the campsite that you want to sell or trade. Feel free to post in the Buy/Sell/Trade thread ahead of time. However, please note, that you must be a registered vendor to sell items at the museum. If that's something you want to do, contact the museum directly ahead of time to register. Otherwise, keep these activities at the campsite.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS - INFORM YOUR BOSS - GET YOUR GEAR PACKED - TELL YOUR FRIENDS

Let's make this 250th BIG BEAUTIFUL ANNIVERSARY, 25th STEEL SOLDIERS ANNIVERSARY and 16TH? ANNUAL BRAZOS COUNTY STEEL SOLDIERS MEETING EXTRA SPECIAL.

We will provide a porta potty for those of you not familiar with the "left cheek lean" method (demonstration by request) or not wanting to "pee on a tree". There will also be semi-potable water available and a wash station for your utensils, pots and pans.
If we are not under a burn ban, we have a large brush pile that we can burn Friday night and maybe add to for Saturday night as well.

Even if you don't have a current working MV and just want to come hang out and swap stories, lies, mistruths, hearsay, but ABSOLUTELY NO GOSSIP, come out and breath some fresh air away from the city lights. There are trails to wander through in the woods that lead to a nice little gorge running through the property. Bring a fishing pole and enjoy fighting off the turtles in the pond for some "catch and release" perch, catfish and an occasional bass.
If you're not into tent camping, bring your RV and a QUIET inverter/generator, we don't want to disturb the bull.

YES, there will be cattle in the field, so if you're a "little bit country" and anxious about that, you have nothing to worry about. They are curious but do not like to socialize with us, unless you feed them apple nuggets.

PS. I'm looking for a reasonably priced driver's side door for an M1009, (complete or bare) and front and rear "cat eye" markers for the M1009.

Don’t see any reason for me not to be there. Don’t know if I will spend the night now that I’m local and my back may not want to stay in the field.

Unfortunately, the date once again conflicts with the Burnet airshow, which for me will consume all day Saturday, and the days before.

How late do folks stay on the Sunday? Would it be worth me driving for three hours Sunday morning to get there? I'd really like to put some of y'all's faces to names, but don't want to show up while folks are packing and leaving.

Cheers

I have been one of the early leavers the last year or two at around 0900 Sunday. Other years I have been one of the last to leave around noon. Sorry for not being more specific Rory but each person has their own schedule as you know.

I might actually be a late arrival Friday evening or even night depending on events with Colton that day. He has something going on that day but no clue as to the time yet.

Hi Rory, it seems like most people leave early Sunday morning.

Thanks gents, that answers the question for me, particularly Tim's "..one of the last to leave around noon".

Maybe next year the two events won't overlap.

Y'all have fun!

Cheers

I know it’s a “cow pasture” but does anyone have the closest address to the entrance or maybe a longitude and latitude to the gate? I’m trying to give directions to an older gentleman that will be driving from a few hours away.

@jluv1185 - Are you planning to attend the rally? If so, what type of vehicle are you bringing?

Also, when you say an older gentleman, by chance are you referring to Timntrucks? I've been chatting with Tim and know he is planning to attend.

Yes I am. If I can get my M1030 bike running right I’m bringing it on the trailer with my S-250 camper. I’d prefer not to drive my HMMWV or deuce that far.

Not talking about Tim. I’m referring to a man named Russel that owns a HMMWV.

Just recieved an ok from the museum that steel soldiers can camp at the museum after
Friday 3:30 pm. Details will follow. And was advised that there is a new entrance to the museum.
they will have us camp in one area then will have us display in another close by.
Again final details will follow.

Sue, we are already set to camp off site of the museum. Are you by chance referring to the re enactment people?
No, I have been in contact with the museum for the last couple of weeks and they gave me the o.k to camp this morning ( Saturday march 7)the o.k to camp is Friday through Sunday (March 19 through 21)
So being on the museum property, having a chance to walk around looking the exhibits and closer to town etc. was a no brainer for me.
And again more details about where to camp is going to follow because they have not
made the property exhibit logistics set in stone yet.
The minute I find out I will post more.
did tell me there is going to be a different entrance to the facility than in the past
