I’ve read through older threads and this 2015 version ... super helpful background. I’m at the point where I need to replace about half a dozen Packard connectors on my deuce and I’d rather not spend $160+ for a very well-used DMC AF8 just to do a few crimps.
Has anyone here recently used alternatives like:
- the CE Auto Electric Supply Packard Series small/large crimp tools,
- Delphi/Aptiv 12085271,
- Sargent 3302/3301, or
- IWISS open-barrel crimpers (IWS-1424B / SN-58B)
…for Packard 56 or 59 terminals?
I’d love to hear how they’ve held up, whether the crimps pass a good pull test, and if anyone has compared them side-by-side with a calibrated AF8 or equivalent.
Appreciate any firsthand experience before I pick one up.
