Hood numbers 1968 and after start with "04", not just "4".
So the number painted on the hood and below the tailgate should be 04L37769.
The "0" however may be omitted in the LOGSA records.

I only just seen your reply, I’d best get a “0” stencil and a stencil made up for the rear serial number now

Anyone able to shed some light on my truck please? I've taken the paint off the frame rail near the steering box and found the numbers 0640 12103 stamped in.

It's a 1975 model. Fits in the database right about where the arrow is. Database contains entries that were in inventory in the 1990's, so yours hit the auction block before then most likely.
