Diesel still good?

Hi I'm sure this has been discussed before but I've searched and didn't find anything.
I have a 6 gallon plastic fuel can that has untreated diesel in it. It's about 7 or so years old I'd guess? I wanted to get some thoughts if I can use it in my CUCV or if I should dump it in my burn pile and burn it?
Thanks

6 gallons isn't much. You'd be able to look inside the can and see if it's got black spots floating in it. Would need filtered if it's got growth. I'd run it if it doesn't. If worried about it just use a little in each tank full. Add some fuel cleaner and be done with it.

Put some in a glass jar and look for contamination. Could be from container or from supply point. Water and rust is the biggest concern, and if the fuel looks clear of contamination use it. But at the bottom of emptying fuel can stop and take another sample. That will if any have the most aggregated fuel contamination. And I would not use that no matter what anyway since its been sitting.
