Looking for some help working on hmmwv ps and brake system bleed. Don't think I have it bled right. Will cover your time fair amount.
Truck in my garage and I have all tools. Its an 1152A1. Located about 20 minutes from downtown Houston.

I work in that area during the day and have experience bleeding the system - does it still have the type with the external tank? I’m assuming yes since it’s an 1152.

I’ll text you in the morning if you still haven’t found someone to help, if you did just update this thread.

Also, confirming if you followed the TM instructions.

In Missouri City. Close to fort bend pkwy or highway 90.
I'm in Tomball, so about 45 minutes away from you, provided the traffic gods are cooperating.

I wouldn't be free until at least next week, and that's rolling into Turkey Day. Mrfarb might be a quicker solution.

That said, it sounds like there may be some opportunities to share resources in the future, if there's a few of us here locally. There's been plenty of times I wish I had an extra set of hands.

I agree. Back story on how I know how to do this, “someone” put brake fluid in his m1165 ps reservoir that was low - quite the foamy disaster. Had to drain the entire system and replace all the fluid, then bleed the system to get the air and foamy mess out. Works perfect now!

My 1123 came with a bad pump, which I then replaced unknowingly with a defective pump, which finally I replaced with a good pump that blew off a hose I forgot to re-tighten. I may have 3 quarts of Dex III spilled on my floor now, but my bleeding game is next level at this point lol.

40 turns, left to right...

Mine is a Saginaw style pump, so the external reservoir isn't involved; since it is a HumV however, I would imagine it's still more of the same sh*t, just different toilet.

I have a new amgen pump to put on. I put a new pump on but believe a chinese knockoff. Going to start tommorow putting new pump on. Bad pump turning pink and lots of air. More experience in big plant equ then the hmmwv. My 715 and 151a2 were much easier.

So, whatever happened here. Did you get everything fixed?

I sure everyone all ready knows this but I just helped a friend who had his son put power steering fluid in there. Only transmission or hydraulic fluid will work. When he told me his steering was getting “sticky”

That’s usually what happens with using “power steering fluid” will do. But knowing he was smarter than that slowed down the trouble shooting process.
Luckily talking to his son it was brought up in conversation that solved the mystery.

Just got the ps finished yesterday. Smooth and zero noise. Believe I screwed up and didnt get my suction hose connection tight last time pump installed.
Working on brakes now. Put up a post on bleeding them. Have bled mc and wheels twice each. Still a little grabby and not smooth from the start.
