Final 1152 brake bleeding

The SN range is 300k and above is REV, 299,999 and below is ECV, that’s why I asked…the 2 MC studs on a “true” OEM Hydrobooster are “orange, not blue, Blue is 299,999 and below, the correct part number is 12342899

Well it looks like I did get the correct part after all. Pick up my napa dot 5 and flush this weekend. Have a gallon coming from mikes online.

For the brake bleeding, I went over to Harbor Freight and got a new brake bleeding kit. It absolutely does make one-man flushing and brake bleeding so, so, so much easier. At Harbor Freight they're less than $30.00.

I highly recommend getting one, if you don't have it already.

Yes that's probably better way to go. I see the air quick disconnect, Just downloaded the manual from harbor. going to get one of those.

Quick question, Is the new fluid bottle just resting above a reservoir or maybe screwed into the reservoir drain in the bottom.

I have a C3 corvette, and I could never get the brakes to bleed correctly. I was constantly sucking air into the system, while I was trying to get it out. This solved all of my problems first attempt. Just connect to an air supply and then pull the trigger until the fluid looks pretty.

For the HumV, I just filled the master cylinder like usual and then kept topping it up after each caliper. I think I looked at the same instructions, took a nap, and then skipped that step because it was confusing and unnecessary. Worked just fine without.

My new fluid was purple, so it was really easy to see when the system was flushed - it changed color.

Finished this job on my 1152. Probably missed the ps pump sucking air from the get go. The truck now has anew AM General ps pump and hydroboost. I have flushed out all the brake fluid from the whole system, blew air through and refilled and bled mc and all wheels. Didn't take the time to read that Dot 5.1 is not compatible to dot 5.0. All good now though.

Finally got it finished, this truck seems to be trying to vex me... Bled everything over and over. Back to normal operation. Thanks Dave
