Nope. I spend more time than I should, but I read and even understand most of what I "like". I worked on military trucks back in the early 80's for a steel high-line company. Rebuilt from the ground up. Worked on trucks, then got into hydraulics. Not claiming to be the all knowing. Just somewhat experienced maybe?
... and for some weird reason i thought you were Staff Admin on here , making sure we all behaved ourselves ..

I stand corrected ! rofl

Well, I am on the "watch list" here.

I have occasionally had an opinion. And I have a bit of a political leaning as well. Sometimes I may have spoken "out of turn" according to the rules. I have a little juice in the TM section, but other than that I just tend to welcome everybody new and stuff like that...

1. re-re-rebuild the fuel side of the pump, replace all the O-rings in the filter and test each fuel circuit for air using the transfer pump.
tore deeper into the cadaver PT pump today but not into the main body .. the suction gear pump can come off the main body in one easy piece , although a previous post above shows the gear pump "halved" to expose the gears

the gear pump's driveshaft pushes easily in/out of the main body , appears to be no tricky traps in doing so :p

I think I can put this thread to bed. The initial problem may have been a combination of bad fuel from a rotted out fuel tank and a clogged PT pump check valve.
After cleaning the check valve and replacing the tank the old girl starts on the first pull and will rev past the danger zone if I let it. There's still some hesitation in the throttle, likely a combination of a sticky injector or an air leak in the filter housing.
As I run injector fluid through her she gets smoother. Problem is the injector fluid swells the O-rings causing the air leak. Now I'm trying to source that 7 inch fuel filter gasket that comes with the filter assembly. The only way I've been able to get it is by buying a new filter.

Good News...
Not great, but at least you found the problem.

Very good, glad you found the issue. It will have slow response until you actually work it. It takes a bit to get all of the air from all of the passages.
