GET 35Kw remote start

Anyone successfully install a remote start on a PSI GET 35kw generator? Ive got a few and I would like to have one that I have converted to run 240 single phase that runs and charges my batteries at night. I would like to be able to remote start the genset. I have figured out a lot over the past few months but I can't read the diagrams to understand which wires I would need to use for a remote start. I was think of just tapping into the starter relay but I think there is a better way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a schematic of its wiring?

I found a schematic for the 20KW here on S.S. and not sure if it would apply to the 35KW.
Here is the S3 operation chart I found for the 20KW.

Thank you for the schematicI do have the diagrams and wiring schematics for the generator. I was just wondering if anyone out there had added a remote start to one of these 35KW generators and could tell me which wires they used in the back of the start switch. When I open the panel and I look at that five layers deck Rotary switch it makes my head hurt. That’s why I was considering just tapping into the starter relay on the side of the engine.

If you post the schematics, there are folks here that might be able to help. (E.g. @kloppk)

I don't know these machines, but as a general strategy just tapping into a generator starter is likely to bring with it more than an few issues.

All the best, 2PbFeet

With my remote start systems I mimic the operation of the master start switch using relays or SSR's to perform the equivalent switch contact closures for starting. Of course you'd need to be able to verify the set started my monitoring Oil Pressure of some other parameter.
You'd need to also mimic opening and closing the contactor (assume it has one).

Thank you for that. I am going to need a transfer switch but never having installed one I have to look into that side as well.

It’s the HDT GET 35kw diesel version. It has the ECT air conditioner unit on the trailer but I’m not using it and it’s disconnected.
Ok, does this unit have Glow Plugs for preheat, because your wiring diagram you posted shows the PSI version with no preheat on ECS / ESS Switch

there are no glow plugs. Sorry I got the name wrong.
When the system has a fault, Shunt Relay SH / CB8 will open and the Contact 52a will remain open until it is manually reset I believe.
Our board for the 004A/005A/006A will work with this Genset. Please pm me for details

Deep Sea Electronics makes generator controllers that can be used to remote or auto start generators. They aren't cheap but they don't require any special configuration tools. Only a USB B cable. Their software is free. Be aware that there are a lot of counterfeit controllers so make sure you buy new from authorized distributors.

Auto-Maskin has a similar product that requires only an Ethernet cable. It's not generator specific but will work for a single generator application. You don't even need to download their software. Their hardware prices are a bit outrageous.
