By the way...I have a back up electric fuel pump if needed and have used it as a sort of carburetor primer at times. Thus may have damaged my carburetor or caused flooding but I only used it once in awhile (suspected vapor lock) and as a mechanical pump failure back up.

To be sure that my fuel pressure is correct and constant (4-6PSI) I have ordered a fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge to assure the safe use of the electric pump and or mechanical pump at the specified pressure setting. I am starting out with 4.5 lbs.

Finally got the old girl to idle nicely after replacing the carburetor, mechanical fuel pump, new coil capacitor and points, new spark plugs, and adjusting timing more than once.
A lot of money to find out that the culprit was a combination of a bad carburetor (accelerator pump seal disintegrated and clogged passage way) as well as over pressure fuel delivery (near 8 -9 PSI instead of the 5PSI that it should have).
With the help of the great Steel Soldiers members, I am now nearing the finish line of this fiasco. The truck is slightly hard starting and stumbles when trying to accelerate from idle to a higher RPM.
I think the timing is off a bit as the idle and fuel mixture screw settings seem spot on. So I get to try my 5-12-24VDC vintage timing light (with spark plug adapter) and will try to make sure the timing is to spec.

A HUGE LOAD OF THANKS AND GRATITUDE FOR ALL THE HELP. I am hopeful that the timing will cure my problem.
