A few weeks ago I tried to log in like I have for years.
instead of logging on, I got a page from Cloudflare security saying they were verifying my device.
i hit “I am human” and the page refreshed…again and again.

I trouble shooted my device and made sure all the settings were correct.

An IT tech named Andrew at S.S. said there wasn’t anything he could do.

Miraculously, the issue resolved itself after a week or two.

Now, the problem is back.

I’m borrowing my wife’s heavily guarded laptop for this.

I sent another message to Support@steelsoldiers….hopefully they can fix it.

Hopefully, someone in power will see this.

If not, I have enjoyed my time here…Coaster (the basset in my avitar sends his regards.

1. We use cloudfare. This helps protect the site due to syn flood attacks.

2. It was set to attack mode again due to constant syn flood attacks again. It will be turned back off eventually. But in complete honesty, it will be turned back on again in the future as needed. (I also stated this is going to happen in the other server migration thread)

3. Your device is a Amazon tablet using silk browser. The issue is it's inability to play with cloudfare. I offered advisement to load chrome on it, but you don't want to per your own email. Also have you taken this up with Amazon and Cloudfare?

Simply put, the security/performance outweighs catering to a incredibly small platform. Your options are to load chrome or perhaps try tapatalk. Or use an actual computer or mainstream device while we navigate the defensive position we're in. As I mentioned in the emails, this issue is device related and needs to be taken up with Amazon and cloudfare.

I'm the same Andrew you've spoken with.

On a related note, I enjoy old computers. I have a few Commodore Amigas that have web browsers on them (very very outdated). I have tried to load the site on them and it's a terrible experience becuase of how limited their browser is. I completely could change the site to a very basic html version and have it very usable to those machines. But by doing that, I would make everyone else's experience terrible. That's basically where this is. I bet I'm the only person that has tried to ever access this site from a computer built in 1992.

I can’t get ahold of Cloudflare.
You talk with Amazon and this is wee above the typical Help person’s pay grade.
Meanwhile, I’m now locked out of 1800petmeds as well.

It’s not enough to say “it’s the machine…Amazon and Silk are two legitimate well known out fits, it’s not like I’m on some third world device or accessing it from Central America.

Can you contact Cloudflare?
At the end of the day, THEIR issuse is lpreventingusers from accessing YOUR site…so it is your problem too.

We've discussed this extensively over email.

1. I don't own and will never own a amazon fire tablet. So I'm zero help trying to duplicate this. I also don't have your device in my hands, so it'd be akin to me asking Amazon support to help with a problem I can't even have the device in hand to work through.

2. The fact that you're locked out of 1800petmeds (I checked they use cloudfare DNS as well) shows this issue is owned by Amazon and Cloudfare.

3. I provided you numbers, your browser doesn't even register in the browser report list.

4. No, there's nothing for me to do in this matter because item 1.

I'm completely out of help on this one. Your options are:

Install Chrome on your device.
Use a device that uses an industry standard browser.
Purchase something more mainstream.

All three of those will likely also resolve your issue with 1800petmeds as well.

BTW, we're back to standard mode for right now. This is absolutely subject to change if we get hit with another attack.

I do appreciate your help.
I received an email and now that is in "normal" mode, it us working.

It is frustrating... I get the Amazon issue, but at the end of the day, my tablet is good with everyone except Cloudflare..so that does go back to Cloudflare. If the tablet was not working with everyone, it would be more in Amazon's court.

Thanks for your help, but since S.S.is a client of Cloudflare...I would appreciate it if someone could let them know about the issue. I recall you saying earlier their service is free, but looking at their site, they get money from someone, and they have a customer service staff that is only available to account holders.

You literally said 1800petmeds (which I spent time to go research and find they too use Cloudfare) also was problematic for you.

Me reaching out to them to tell them that there's a problem, without having the device, is a futile effort.

We do not pay for it. The free tier is suitable for us.

Cloudfare support can be reached at:

To repeat, I'm completely out of help on this one. Your options are:

Install Chrome on your device.
Use a device that uses an industry standard browser.
Purchase something more mainstream.
