Not a CUCV, but a close cousin. We have a 2006 LSSV with 6.6L Duramax engine and Allison 1000 transmission. It didn't have batteries when we got it. I am requesting photos or sketches regarding how to correctly connect the three (3) batteries, especially the cable to/from the 24V alternator. Thanks in advance.

I have found something that may help. Someone else uploaded the manuals you need. The file that ends in 05 is the one you are looking for for the battery connections. Page 6-11. It does refer to another GM manual in the schematics.

Thanks. I have that manual, as well as others. It shows the schematic connections, but I was asking for photos for a better understanding.

It looks like the top picture on 6-33 is the passenger side battery, the next picture should be drivers side 24v battery at the front.
Page 6-37 shows both passenger side batteries, one is under the vehicle on the frame.

The first picture on page 6-39 shows the battery connection for the frame mounted battery. The left battery terminal is the ground directly to the frame.

The last picture on page 6-40 shows a good view of the battery cable connections for the passenger side battery under the hood.

Page 6-17 shows a good picture of the junction block on the passenger side by the battery under the hood. It identifies all the cables really well.

Truck is wired up and running. It's weird connecting a 24v supply from the alternator to a negative battery terminal. 12V gauge is showing 14V. 24v gauge is dead - will trouble shoot today (hopefully just a fuse). 24v side of circuit is showing 25+v when truck is not running, and 26+v when running. I would prefer 28v when running, but at least the 24v alternator appears to be putting out more than 24v. Thanks for your input.

Some of them use a voltage converter to get 24v like the CUCVII/III, mine uses a dual alternator setup very similar to the original CUCV. You actually get 12v+ off the negative terminal on the driver side battery. You do not need to have a battery in the 3rd battery spot on the frame.

Too late on the 3rd battery issue. If we had really thought about it, we night have come to that conclusion.
