(M1009) Differential covers with drains?

Being that the rear Govbomb on these is pretty picky, I'd like to make servicing it a bit easier.

I was trying to find front/rear diff covers but all I can seem to find is either $300ea or cheap rear only ones.



Only thing I have found that's decently priced is for the rear, but it's questionable on its fit.

I thought all of the 80s and 90s 8.5" 10 bolt covers interchange.

I'd save the money and just get a fluid pump to pull it out. Or a lube locker gasket so pulling the cover is easier. Unless you need the protection.

I've been pampered by my 5 tons. Can't really get simpler than draining and refilling.

How about weld drain plug? Should fit with diff inners?

5 ton diffs have both drain and fill on the pumpkin. Plop a pan underneath, take out the plug, move down the truck to each axle and repeat, by the time you get to the 3rd axle the 1st has mostly drained - shoot the new gear oil up in there, I swear it takes like 15 mins or so for ~9 gallons of fluid. The M1009 would be a little quicker but I want to make it easy in case I go through mud/water that might makes it way into the vent - so I can drain/replace quickly if needed. I'll be able to tell very quickly if there's been any water intrusion by just puling the drain for a second and topping off what seeps out.

It's more of a preventative maintenance thing.
