Grounding kit is optional. Some say it's more of a band-aid than actually useful. If all the stock wiring points are properly cleaned and good connection it is unnecessary.

Quick questions: is the grounding kit necessary? I’d rather take care of it now if so. Anything in the same realm necessary?
Grounding kit means you have undiagnosed corrosion interfering with wire continuity.

Repairing and cleaning the harness is IMHO much better than bypassing undiagnosed issues with a patch.

The grounding kit is a patch, not a cure.

IMHO

Started the reverse light switch install. Was pleasantly surprised to see that the shifter bolt holes already had rivnuts installed. Was that a common practice?

I decided to go down a different road for my hard top. I tried to copy the M1165 top but I used Coosa board and then fiberglassed it to give myself a decent paintable surface. I have never done fiberglass before this but Coosa is was like building with plywood (just messy and a lot more expensive). Here's a few pics.

I made the rear center panel removable so I could still use the HMMWV as a truck. There's still work to do, like build a c-pillar, cut in the rear window in the removable panel, etc.

It looks great! What are your plans for doors?

Roof fully welded and almost done. Moving on to the doors. Not really a fan of the RV windows so will have to think outside the box.

Are we allowed to vote (y)(n)🤔 ?

From the peanut gallery.....Not crazy about the scale of size... of the added plate, overhang and square tubing. The "Flying Nun Look" might require a FAA certification. Just hanging with the boys, NOT a jab, cheap shop talk here......🤘

Maybe a very small 5/8 -3/4 U channel for the gutter) tight to the vertical side, top edge. For the grab rail, round stock with cope fit up (stubs) to small base pads to roof. (sized accordingly, you already have the angle and thick roof skin) This would allow 3 - 4 pads to bolt on roof to make the connection. Removable for another modification... say luggage / cargo rack / tent topper or tie into the grab action??? Front facing tubing to pad could angle or curve for an aerodynamic high speed performance look that HumV are known for (sexy). Rear grab rail extend 3 - 4 inches beyond the last stub to plate. This could be useful to lash items on roof.

Either way...You got it going on(y)

It's fun to spend others people's money, CAMO
