do the m35a3 ctis wheel valves all supposed to have the spring and metal disk in them? or are some of them just a rubber diaphragm?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!

Sorry, cant help ya....no experience with A3, but this will keep it in public view.Bueller, Bueller, Bueller .....
Here is an A3 Person now! Its what I love about the site, people help out! Thanks HDN!=)The TMs do have disassembly and cleaning instructions for the wheel valves. @spectra3279 are you asking if the valve models and functional components were mixed and matched on the trucks?
Can you please share the video links? I can take a look at them and compare them to the TM.All the videos I've seen have had a spring and a metal disk in the valve. Mine does not have them. So I was wondering if my valves have been neutered
they were not of m35's. they were of lmtv's but the wheel valves look the same. Can you please share the video links? I can take a look at them and compare them to the TM.
I haven't had any wheel valves apart on my truck as I decided to leave them off after I replaced the tires.
Thanks for sharing those. The wheel valves look the same except for the fact they are FMTV wheel valves with different components in themthey were not of m35's. they were of lmtv's but the wheel valves look the same.
some of them
ive downloaded the TM's. plan on printing out the sections as i need them and keep them in a binder for shop use. Thanks for sharing those. The wheel valves look the same except for the fact they are FMTV wheel valves with different components in themThe FMTV is a different truck with different manufacturers. I'm pretty sure CM Automotive didn't design the CTIS for the FMTV - maybe it was Meritor instead?
Anyway, the M35A3 valves are designed for the M35A3. They do work as designed, as I know at least @glcaines has a functioning stock CTIS on his A3. Go by the M35A3 TMs. They describe the parts of the truck as they were built.
Be sure to have M35A2 manuals available too as they cover parts of the truck that were unchanged in the A3 remanufacture.
thats where you tell if the torque converter is spinning. you stick your finger in it and feel if its moving right?Darn it, I was hoping it was a question about the hole in the bottom of the bellhousing.

YEAH!! Well, MAYBE not, suggest a PM to @swbradley1 ....fingers are a special component and require possible modification! ROFLMBOthats where you tell if the torque converter is spinning. you stick your finger in it and feel if its moving right?
Here's the valve diagram for the M35A3:i realize the fmtv was done by a different company. but was unsure if they had the springs or not. like i said was afraid mine had been neutered.

Here's the valve diagram for the M35A3:

There is supposed to be a spring in there (part #14 toward the left side of the image). I take it you've had your valves apart and the springs are missing? I'm not aware of any manufacturing differences with the valves where the spring could be omitted, but we're talking about the DoD and their stuff is made by the lowest bidderI'd think a change like that would be noted in a TM.
sure. it will be a couple of days before i will have time to pull one off and get picturesCan you share pictures of your valves? I wonder if someone replaced them.
You can leave it on the wheel too if you'd like. I think the A3 valves are distinct enough from other valves that we should be able to tell whether they're something else while they're still mounted.sure. it will be a couple of days before i will have time to pull one off and get pictures
Get better soon.....health is precious!Sorry have been sick. will get the pictures later today
