You will find the same thing is a business model used around the globe. Had a house heater, 8 years old. Needed a part. NO I was supposed to buy a new heater. There are many examples. In Europe they passed legislation that manufacturers have to have replacement parts for what they sold over a certain price. OK, parts cost more than a new one. No one can actually repair the things any way and Ma and Pa fix it businesses are about gone. You are supposed to buy a new product. It takes a clerk the same time to process 1 part as it does to process a semi load to a manufacturer.
So lets make it all digital, so there is more to break. This is progress. At least so they say. Wonder where folks work so they can buy all this stuff? I'm a retired GI so I have to fix my own stuff as I can't afford someone to do it for me. Not alone as this is a web site where folks buy old used up stuff and try to keep it going. Ever price a house back up AUX gen made in China? I buy cars for less. After 50 years of looking at Camo paint, I really want a change. So I don't own one. Saw too many busted ones.
