You if course cannot lift the cab with that latch unsealed, and if you do get the cab up, you MUST install a cab support brace before you do any work on the hydraulic system…. You open that with the cab up and it could come down rapidly all by itself…

Hello guys
@GeneralDisorder @Ronmar
A few months ago I changed the O-ring as you recommended and it worked well for only a few cab raise but now the latch is leaking fluid everywhere. I ordered the CAB LOCK SEAL KIT from MME, but I can't lift the cab to repair the latch, not even with the manual pump as it leak a lot .
HELP please 🙏
Thank you

Disconnect the manual pump and connect it directly to the cylinder. You might have to make hoses for this or re-use some hoses - the cylinder lines terminate in some bulk-head fittings on the outside of the frame rail behind the passenger tire. Since the pump has no reversing control you will have to swap the lines to retract it after you raise it. There's a plug in the top of the pump where you can add fluid to it's internal reservoir.

Use a long extension to remove the big nut on the latch. Pull the pin out with pliers or whatever you can get in there to unlock the latch.

Don't buy anything from MME. Scalpers and they sell garbage.

Those latches are ripe and falling off the tree:

One of our group members sells a quality kit on eBay:

Parts are everywhere. All over eBay, all over the web. DP Equipment, SECO parts, there's tons more. Use some search tools. MME is the loudest, most scumbag, and worst quality scalper of the bunch. Basically anyone is better but trust no one. Verify and price compare with as many other sources as you can find. ALWAYS. And ensured you aren't down the rabbit hole of NSN's for a part that you can get at NAPA for 1/4 the price without the military shenanigans.

Ok, you are raising the cab and working on the hydraulic system… DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER DANGER… hydraulics hold the cab up, and you are going to compromise them… As suggested, you can run a line from the hand pump outlet port to the cab cylinder base line. The hand pump does not hold enough fluid but if the return line is still connected to the system it should draw fluid from the AOP reservoir, if not as mentioned you can add fluid thru the filler port.

once it is up, build a crutch from frame to cab to insure it stays there. Since it should be over the balance point, it does not take much, a 2x4 ~6’ long(cut to fit) works fine. Once your repairs to the latch are completed restore all the normal plumbing to their correct positions, then try a cab raise to pressure test the system, it should open the latch and not leak… if it tests OK you can remove the crutch and lower the cab normally…

one of our participants here was nearly crushed by his cab, so watch your ass…

If you dont really grasp the changing hyd lines to get the cab up you can buy or barrow a long stroke hyd jack that they use on log spliter or roll around engine hoist ( amazon 40ish bucks ) and a inch and a half hvy wall square tubing about 2 1/2 ft long drill a 1/2 in hole about 2 in from end slide tubing over end of cyl shaft with hole in it and put a 1/2 in bolt thru both pieces with a locknut
Now yo can place the jack on the ground and the other end against the bottom back of th cab so it rest against the 2 in lip that hangs down from the back of the cab . I used 4x4s from ground to same lip on cab to scotch each lift till i got the cab raised all the way over .
You will get the gist of it as you go up and bracing and jacking from different points so have plenty of bracing on hand and this too is dangerous work so have help and NEVER get under the cab at no point while doing this till its ALL the way over and brace brace brace !
This is how i got my cab up 6 months after the cab came down and rested on the back my skull and my forehead face down on the airlift beam section till i got rescued so safety first you might not be as lucky as i was to live thru it ! 51Ddo7TPlNL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Good news
I managed to lift the cabin just enough to remove the latch and repair it. The problem was that there's a small O-ring inside that I didn't see the first time, but now it works perfectly.

THANK YOU
