Need help with wheel fitment on trailer

Hey guys, not sure what went wrong here. I did a lot of research on this site about picking the correct wheel for my trailer but when I went to install them the Center cutout of the wheel was too small to fit over the hub. Super close but just too small.

I was in a pinch so I hollowed out the center a little bit. The studs lined up perfectly. I guess my question is do I need another kind of rim or can I shave down a little bit on the hub itself picture show where the hang up was.
The trailer is a schutt 2013 generator trailer and the rims were off a 2500 Chevy I think like a '05

You need rims off an older 3/4 ton non metric as they will have the bigger middle hole. Your 05 is metric. Cutting down is ok as long as your bolts holes are concave so the rim centers on the lug nuts (lug centric) and not on the middle (hub centric).

Thank you for the reply. It seems to be okay. I just don't like the fact that I can't balance the wheel because I cut the center hole I took it to a tire place to have it balanced and they said they can't.

Correct. GM 8-lug wheels have a smaller center hole than Ford & Dodge…IIRC, early HMMWV wheels had the smaller GM-style center hole, and would not fit on Dodge/Ford axles without some “massaging.”

You could try a wheel repair or machine shop to fix your existing wheels so that the tire shop can balance them.
