Hello NC. New member in Zebulon. Newly acquired m1123 still in progress.
.
Welcome to the Outfit!

Be sure to download the manuals for your hummer... The "Dash -10" will explain how to start the thing up. So you don't spend money on fried electrical components. The other books offer up troubleshooting flow charts and part numbers. Whatever you do, try to stay with American Made parts. Lots of little chinamen are offering up their "made parts" and they just don't hold up.

Thanks for the tips. So far the big problem was finding out that the fuel solenoid was grounding to the pump housing and causing non working glow plug light, of course no fuel, and some really hot wires. After that it was mostly routine. They transmission sensors were missing and front drive shaft disconnected with u-joints missing. This site helped me fix those issues. Now for longer test drives as confidence grows. Thanks to all those whose posts helped me without even knowing.

ive been busy too, still burying the millions of dead from the snow apocalypse at the beach… :/
Rbox-
We JUsT drove through Elkin Sunday..
Bbq downtown at the old hotdog cafe
( my truck is wintered outside Wilksboro)
I also had a headlight issue last year,
(no headlights, but I have parking lights)
could not figure it out for the life of me. Finally did checks on the wiring and found the power lead to the headlight relaywas cut behind the dash in an inaccessible spot.
Check your headlight relay and see if you have power to the low and high beams.
2. Four years ago, same thing, only lost all headlight and parking light function..
It turned out to be the keypad, headlight control,( with the blue LEDs)
I swap that out, and it fixed it.
I have an AO, and they swapped out the old headlight switch with that new soft push button, and the fit is not well so the wire loom has a band in it as it goes up to the switch. That wire loom grounded out and blew the switch….

Good everyone, just a little update I have moved from Sanford to Brunswick County and due to me being in one place and my M35A2 being another I am getting ready to put my truck back in good shape hopefully. First fight is the injection pump and making some new fuel lines. Then its bumper and body work time. Oh the joys of owning old military trucks.

Yes sir... It is a chore to keep them running.
If you don't crank them at least weekly, they get old and tired.

yes, that is a fact.
My brother’ has a horse ranch in Missouri, and had a neighbor who raised elephants —for what I don’t know.
Raising an elephant in Missouri, is a lot like owning a military vehicle.
Bringing that big, ugly grey and green thing home seemed like a great idea -until you had to daily drive it and feed it.
