Site ridiculously slow

Am I the only one that has issues here? This site is virtually unuseable. I mean, I DO have slow internet, but other sites work just fine (sites with ads). The ads are annoying, especially the popups that you have to close, I can't think of another forum I have visited that has that, maybe because it's literally about every page change here. I have tried the site other places than my own Wifi and it is no better. Basically, I just don't even bother trying to use the site because I feel like I am back on dial-up.

It has been slow several times in the recent weeks - but right now - it is just fine here.

I get rejected by the security check. I click on the box saying I'm not a Robot, but the page thinks about it for a few seconds and ask the same question again.
.
What are you using for a Browser?
There are several that just won't work with the tool.
It has been "off" for several days now too...

Looking at his IP, it's nothing hitting CloudFlare. We're currently not currently in lockdown mode. And his IP is a US based one. So there shouldn't be any reason for the challenge prompt.

I am posing challenge prompts for other countries though currently. I'd try deleting cookies and seeing if it continues. Also I can set a rule to bypass based off IP.

The site is currently working fine for me.

I get the challenge prompt occasionally, when the hackers are at it pretty hard. Just takes a few seconds to clear when its on, I don't mind that if it helps keep the site secure.

Regarding ads, a small annual donation supporting the site and those all go away. ;)
Donations and ads are what keep the lights on...

Cheers

Might I add to your point a bit. We do rely on sponsor advertising here, along with memberships. Could I run this site out of my basement? Yes. Would it be reliable? No. Would it save money? Yes.

But to the main point. We're accustomed to websites being free. Which SS is completely free. But most websites like facebook, instagram, exc. work very differently. Your information is sold to anyone they can sell it to. Your search habits, who you follow, who you're associated with. It's a goldmine that while you think you're browsing a website that is free, you actually are the product on sale.

We DO NOT sell anyone's data here. There's constantly people asking if we'd sell information. If I have anything to do with it, that won't happen under my watch.

Same thing that I am using... On a PC
That or Chrome.

I haven't had that particular problem.
Wish I had a better answer.

Are you having trouble right now?
No. It's either all or nothing. Every time the security question appears while I'm trying log in means that I will be unable to access the site. If I get the security question, I just go to a different site.

This doesn't make any sense from the cloudflare side of things. Your IP isn't flagged to be checked. Unless your ISP is using some outside the US based gateway that's causing you to present differently to cloudflare. I'm going to set your IP. (Please confirm that what I'm seeing is correct by going to www.whatismyip.com I'm only going to share the last two octets of your IP I see here. 119.74 ) I'm going to set a rule for this IP to bypass cloudflare completely.

Other than a couple isolated short instances, I'm on here all the time from home and at work ( don't tell my boss ) and I never have a problem.
I'm no internet Guru but I will say I get virtually no popups at all on this site, but plenty when I'm on other pages.
I'm using Chrome on a laptop.
