The lift mechanical pump on the 1123 left me kind of stranded last week. Installed a Facet electric pump 4-6PSI and has been testing fine so far. Bought a new mechanical pump from HPG but will not install in the near future and when I do, i will leave the electric one in place for emergencies.
Used my jumper to start the truck with the 1151.
FAC-40151?

How was the installation?

One word of warning on Electric pumps they PUSH better than they PULL, so closer to the tank is better... Easier on the pump. Just makin count.

This one. Installation was fast as i did not remove the lift pump yet. I am going through all the plumbing of the existing. I wanted to test 1st prior to the rmoval of the mechanical. Installed on top, right next to the power steering reservoir and used a switched wire from the instrument panel (don't remember which one i used, could it be a 27) something i noticed though, when i turn the switch on the pump makes a tiking noise pumping, but does not stop right away as my polaris MRZR (very similar pump) that leads me to believe the injection pump is not stopping the flow (all this prior to starting) and when it starts i see a little more black smoke than usual, of course it could be my imagination.

Thinking about it, of course the injection pump is not stopping it, it goes through the return.

Agreed and noted. I am planning on going mechanical again and just leaving the electrical as back up where i just have to switch hoses and re-install the fuse to get back on the road if i get stranded. Well not sure what i am going to do yet to be honest, was just too lazy and it was too hot to replace the mechanical pump a couple of days ago. 😅

I actually have a Holley Red Pump on the frame back by the tank on a toggle through a relay for 12V...
After two nonfunctional Mechanicals... Just bypassed and left it. I'll just carry a spare...

I might keep using electric. Did yoy remove mechanical at all and put a closeout plate in the place?
I removed the Mechanical completely. and put a closeout plate on there Just like on racecars of days gone by.
So Electric only and it is a bolt on an Easy plug and play... I can keep a spare in a vacuum bag in the Under Seat area...

There was a big auction in CC this week, I looked at all the big stuff (ended up buying a Genie S-85 man lift) and the wife looked at all the "little" stuff that my ADHD does not allow me to care about.
So she said on one of the pallets she got for $30 had a couple really big Clevises on it, so I am thinking great, I can telegraph my sexual inadequacies by hanging a large clevis on my pintle hook :ROFLMAO:
BUT NOOOO, when she said big she meant BIG.
Behold a 65 ton clevis, 3" and the bolt is 3 1/8", weighs 157LB and new cost is over $3,000
I don't think I can get that on my pintle hook, although I can see a possible 2 1/2 receiver adapter for the 3500HD o_O

Been a while since last update, so here it is!

I had read somewhere... and then promptly forgot... that the military sometimes will drain the fluids from both differentials and the transfer case.

I was reminded of this when my rear tire locked up and I found an impressive pile of scrap metal inside the bone dry rear differential.

The other part of the problem was I was so excited and impatient to get out and drive that I failed to stop myself & run through the steps to make sure the humvee was ready.

Reminder to all humvee newbies who are reading this... CHECK THE FLUID LEVELS IN YOUR TRANSFER CASE AND BOTH DIFFERENTIALS!!!! (and everywhere else for that matter!) Learn from my impatience and pain!!! Transfer case and front differential were also dry but did not have any damage (as far as I can tell).

The positive? I got to learn how to replace a rear differential... which positively sucks. But afterwards it is running - and running well. :)

Replaced both front seats with after-market seats which are much more comfortable than the square blocks of foam.

Replaced both rear seats with high-back versions of hmmwv seats. Was able to take the family out for a ride!

Also placed a rubber pad between the battery cover/seat mount plate and the batteries just to ensure no contact so the passenger doesn't get a nasty surprise (although it seems there was plenty of clearance).

I ran into temporary issues with insurance but they have been worked out so vehicle is completely street legal and I use it often!

Current problems/projects: hmmwv likes to jump into limp mode. Stopping and restarting resets it but I'm using y'all's knowledge to troubleshoot the problem. Also troubleshooting windshield washer fluid motor and looking at rearview visibility options.

Thank y'all for your help and knowledge!
