My M1028A2 is stock wired to power the military trailers I pull with her, including electric brakes on the 5th wheel communications trailer, but had no provision for powering the brakes on my civilian car-hauler.
Rather than build yet another adapter, we put a proper brake controller under the...
Come on folks, there are lots of great vehicles out there!
And a bunch that have come in a close second on previous months that we'd like to see nominated again.
Cheers
Welcome to the February 2026 MV of the Month Nomination Thread!
To submit a nomination the rules are :
1. - You may nominate your own vehicle or another SS Member's vehicle (please get the member's permission first). Do not nominate vehicles not owned by an SS Member.
2. - ONE good photo must...
Congratulations to Antennaclimber!
I'm surprised this only drew 41 votes from 115K members. Same for the monthly (which is why we didn't have one in January?). Maybe we are not making the polls obvious enough for people to see on a daily basis?

My M185 did that a while back - "How did I get overfilled on oil??"

I literally finally resorted to tossing a coin.
Cheers

Amid the flurry of comments, I'll add - check the date code on your front tires.
The military moved to the later style many years ago, so most of the surplus XLs are quite old. They have a reputation for self-destructing even though they look good on the...
Note that the "ID number" can be anything consistent with what the military paint on the vehicle, so long as it is at least 2" tall and "in a contrasting colour". You can use bumper numbers, hood numbers, or as in the case of my Unimog, the ID number the Swiss military paint on the passenger...
Download the manuals to have, but to save you some time, here is some stuff from my files, copied from various manuals in the past.
If you don't have a paint supplier, all the needed colours are available from Rapco Parts in Bowie, Tx. They are members on here and very helpful folks.
Cheers
$523??!!??? o_O
Outstanding!!
We did have some green ones on Marine bases, semi-gloss Marine Green with yellow markings. I don't remember seeing them on the flightline though. We always felt pampered if we flew into an Air Force facility - they'd send one of those vans or something similar...
