    mep-003a no output at lugs

Well look at it this way... the time and diesel wasted was still probably cheaper than getting and installing a replacement breaker or worse yet, a replacement AC select switch! I still call it a WIN despite a little embarrassment and time wasted... ;)

Humm.... relocated across country.... I wonder if anything could have come loose in transit?? I've seen some amazing amounts of vibration damage caused by over the road transportation.

New hoses and fittings for my 002a

Remember back on page 3 when we were talking about fuel lines.... :ROFLMAO: I thought I would mention that the return line from the fitting near the IP back to the tank is a -4 ( the only Oddball hose on the whole unit )

    mep-003a no output at lugs

The AC selector switch shouldn't bee too easy to turn, it should be pretty stiff and as you rotate it BEYOND the setting you want, it will suddenly snap into position. You can work the switch a bit ( with the machine off ) to scrape any oxidation off the internal contacts, Also work the breaker...

Mep-002A 003A 004A 005A Drop in Spin on Fuel filter adapter

Hello, These are raw 6061 aluminum. Anodizing is not really an option at the moment as I make these at home in my shop in small batches, to send them out for anodizing would probably not be cost effective. There are "home anodizing" kits available, but I'd bet the quality of the finish would be...

Northeast folks... good luck in todays storm

Hi Rick, those fuel numbers you listed are the rated full load numbers for an 002 and an 003. 90% of the time whatever gen I was running at the moment was showing almost no load on the meter. Only when the well pump kicked on, or clothes dryer, oven etc. did the load go above 25%. To suck up...

802a #2 Gotta be easier than the first...

So for the record, metering "Pimp levers" , known to others as Pump levers.... :ROFLMAO: don't just pop out of the rack, the rack has to be damaged, high / limit screws set incorrectly, or installed wrong. Look at the screw that the vertical fuel lever hits when it's in the Off position, FSS...

Oh jeeze.... I get it! My fat finger spelling mistakes!

802a #2 Gotta be easier than the first...

Since you mentioned it is slow starting, I still think you should replace the electric pump and then diagnose the fuel system. Make sure you have good flow and the 802 also needs a couple PSI to get the metering pumps working. They won't work if the electric pump is not providing a little bit of...

What's your address? I'm only a few hours away and I can help "arrange" an extended outage for you. Funny story, a few years a go I sold an 002A to an electrical engineer who came with an oscilloscope and his own load bank to test the machine. He and his wife were both wearing Generac...

New hoses and fittings for my 002a

Perhaps we're jumping to conclusions as to what Rusty was actually using? There is nylon air brake tube and there is air brake hose. I get what you're saying about the semi-rigid nylon and polyester tubes, but perhaps that's not what Rusty meant? What about the rest of the "air brake system"...

802a #2 Gotta be easier than the first...

Weak fuel pumps will cause that problem, but typically not at such a low current output. The cube Facet pump needs to go away regardless, but to kill you engine at only 450W the pump must be barely working at all! I'd probably replace the pump and see what happens. If you still have the same...

Northeast folks... good luck in todays storm

Well, I'm back on grid power now, so I will reserve my remaining dead dinosaurs for another day! It was "Fun" for the first couple days, but gets old quick.... Great to be prepared, but probably better to be prepared and not need to use it!

MEP 002A entering periodic runaway condition

Agreed! Big cap is 1", smaller one inside is 5/8" 12 pt. Loosen before removing the pump. Read ALL the info available in the TM section regarding the pump removal procedure. Do not pay any attention to the instruction in the TM as far as pump rebuild, go by the Ambac documents, the TM tells you...

MEP 002A entering periodic runaway condition

Say a prayer for having an Ambac pump! I don't know of anything inside the pump that could allow fuel into the oil except perhaps the flat rubber square cut ring that seals the pump unit to the aluminum housing, #42 in the parts diagram if you look in the TM section. As far as rebuild parts...

New hoses and fittings for my 002a

I remember Rusty! You can try a place called Fleet Pride, they have locations all over the place including 3 in VA. The can also ship to you if they are too far away. They carry a ton of different heavy equipment parts and supplies.

Soon he will need to decide how he wants to proceed in life. He is very interested in fabrication, CNC machining, welding etc. He also likes operating all types of heavy equipment. He's also got a good understanding and ability in construction, electrical and plumbing. So perhaps trade school...

Northeast folks... good luck in todays storm

I'll have to take a look and see if it has any info on it. It was from a Dual 5K power plant unit. A PU-798 I believe. You have 2 machines wired into it with 1 running as the supply. when you want to switch over, you start the 2nd unit and dial in the frequency until there is a very slight...

Northeast folks... good luck in todays storm

Absolutely, he was welding when he was 11, stuck a DN2M engine into a john deere garden tractor at 12 , threw this shed together at 13, even moved the shed to where it is located by himself. He started operating my excavator at about 13 as well. He was operating my backhoe and the Lull at age...

New hoses and fittings for my 002a

Go to www.Discounthydraulichose.com I was getting those short fuel hoses custom made for under $20 ea. a couple years ago. I know prices went up a little but for $61 you could probably get all the fuel filter hoses made.
