Okay so it turns out I had to open it up I want to know if the linkage arm rod moves by hand and it does so the other one after looking at them side by side the piston is still stuck up in there somehow I'm not worried about it I got a new one I'm going to use it hell I might even buy another one as a backup when's the next time I get to reach back to 1967 and grab something cool

Usually if you soak the metering pump in one of those 1 gallon carburetor cleaner cans for a few days it will free things up.
I can see in the picture that the pump is stuck in the compressed position.
Could also throw in the new one and then clean up the original and keep it as a spare...

The layout, and text on that page look an awful lot like you find in Motor's Manuals. I'll have to take a look at the ones I have hanging around.

Actually, no it isn't a Motor's as far as I can tell from the few I have. They do cover "stock engines", but they're always in the back of the truck books giving them high page numbers... Nothing noted on this brand... Probably have to find something similar that covers smaller engines.

I bought that manual.
Slinger you are my hero.
When I get it I'll let you know if it's as beautiful as I think it will be.
I think that that book has the most information on this engine on the entire interweb.
And once again it always pays to ask You never know.
If you're in New Jersey north of 80 let me know I'll get you a beer and pizza at Nellie's

Thanks. Grew up in Wayne. Vinni's was the pizza of choice for my family. Haven't been back since I sold my folks place in 2022...

That book looks like a seriously handy piece of lit if you have vintage engines to play with... May have to get one to put on the shelf.

Thanks a lot My only concern was that the page number was different but it did say American Marc so who cares what page it's on I bought the one before it too so now I got the 7th and 8th edition those things are like 250 pages each wow can't have enough books that's for sure.
Thanks again for everything. Once I get everything figured out I'm going to splatter this stuff all over the internet no one will ever have to spend their four-day weekend while they're sick searching for information on an American Marc🙃
