I just found a home for an original CCW (5 ton 6X4) took a bit of doing to find the 'pieces and parts', but they're out there. There's a guy who advertises in the M/V magazines, he's up in Canada, but attends the shows and he has access to quite a bit of stuff. Even makes new data plates. Mine was an EARLY war unit and those Yellow Truck and Bus units were hard top cab, and were the last to have all steel beds. (think we've got a rebuild able all steel GMC bed here yet if you need one. They went to all wood and later in the war a composite, steel frame and sides with wood floor. Think the bed here has a set of NEW replacement stake pockets to replace the ones on it with the bottoms rusted. MIGHT have some other stuff too, like vacuum booster and such, alot went with the truck but something always gets 'missed' especially when your barn resembles "Fibber Magee's Closet" like mine does. If you look under the front end of the second picture, thats an I-beam axle not a drive axle.
I bought the truck years ago from a farmer who's dad put a hoist bed on it for grain/potatoes. It failed and cracked a rear drive axle, found a replacement axle easy enough. But the barn I built for them took time, then the govt transferred me to another job, and with the pancreatic cancer, well I had it about 15 years, had a hell of a collection of parts, but health that went sideways, so its elsewhere now. Good Luck to you and if you're interested in the parts, I'll make you a good deal, not like they're doing ANYBODY any good here.
