Tape is one way to fix it, but there are other ways that are better. They require a bit more work. However you fix it, when you are done, you need to make sure the wires do not rub on the metal again. You can wrap the wire harness at the point where it rests on the metal. I used to keep a bag of bicycle inner tube among my tools. I would cut a strip off, wrap it around the wire harness. Secure it with several wire ties and it should last longer that your life expectancy. THEN, you need to start looking for other places where the wire harness rubs on metal. Fix every place not, in the light, then at 02:00 on a rainy night.
🧐It looks like Q1 and Q2.. Not sure but I think that’s to the stator am I correct?? 😫😫 I hope I’m not correct!! As far as fixing the wires can i solder them??

Just fix the wires. I would cut them and use butt connectors to join the ends, IF, you have the right tools. But just fix the wires.
Hey Hey Hey, I fixed the wires!! I had to disconnect the j5 and I noticed the pin has letters and I don’t want to hook it back up wrong!! Or does that matter?

So its good. On start up, when you hold up the S1 for a few seconds longer, the AC volt meter doesn't come up? Then drop off when you let go of S1?

We have been here before. Back about post #44. Now that you have fixed the wires, you need to go back and test the VR, to see if its alive. I have my doubts. Kurt or Ray put the procedure in this thread, at about post #40-46? You need to see what the procedure tells you.

Good Day: I attached 2 docs. They are in the TM Section to down load. I Circled the item on the Schematic. Your GFCI gets power from TB5 terminal 4 for the white wire and TB5 terminal 6 for the black wire. I have seen them else where. Yours looks like somebody used the outlet real well popping the breaker and running it at almost 10A for a while. I have seen a lot popped completely out of the device. Thankyou Stanley orange extension cords in the field instead of using load terminals. May want to leave the old one in place to plug the hole and get yourself a GFCI, for your safety, at a hardware store and wire it in. Put a inline fuse in there on the black wire you can change to protect the wiring as most you find has no built in breaker. TRC wanted from the ARMY almost $300 a pop in 2022. The outlet is normal everyday item found at Home Depot. Got a few war stories about these things. If it has to be exact, I have an address to try. Recommend using moist area outlets with covers as this outlet is in the weather.

So this was not the first time you have run it since fixing the chaffed wires correct?
I was wondering if something went wrong with the wiring, but it sounds like you ran it after that repair with no power output, but also no smoke on that try either?
Has anything else changed since the last run that we should know about?

I have run it for testing for short periods have not really run it because of no power output.. And no I didn’t smoke then. Nothing new has happened just testing the terminal on the VR

Hey guy how’s things going I hope all is well!! I kinda got frustrated the other day had to take a breather…. I went a printed the testing process for a few things.. I’m not a mechanic but with the TM and the knowledge you guys have given im going to give it another try… I went through the things I have done while testing because the smoke has me a lil bothered. And I remember the smoke doing the process of the VR test. I think I may have held the start a lil too long 🤔 maybe!! I honestly don’t know.. I also was thinking if maybe the switch or maybe the to the switch that sends the power to the lugs might have gone bad!! Would that cause there to be no power to the lugs? Thanks again for y’all’s continued support and service… It is so so greatly appreciated…
