5def7144-1525-4ef0-9c1e-f43aefd94dc6.jpgMounted Last pair of NEW tires today. and took a test drive... went past the 4x4 shop that is rarely if ever OPEN... and used their nifty little ramp for a minute...

Then there was this...
He said "Throttle Stuck" "This is the THIRD time this has happened"
I said it would have been back at the Dealership after the FIRST time...
"Floor mat got under the pedal"
"Then take the damned floor mat out and throw it in the ditch..."

Try putting your left foot on the brake and pushing real hard while holding the gas and see what happens.

Yeah... No... Learn how to drive maybe? Get vehicle fixed so you don't have this happen THREE goddam times?

For what it is worth my 2017 Silverado I could power brake it and launch into a 4 wheel smokey burnout... rears burned while holding brake but truck sat still all 4 spun when brake released.

Sooo I left work to go do something specific and well I didn't manage to get that done because I am flying along at 65 in a 50... and SPLAT! red sprays across the drivers windscreen like someone out on the hood got domed by a sniper.

I am still driving, Still running still pulling, I check temp, Electricity and Oil Pressure... then realize I do not have any PS, and ultimately no PB, and no fan clutch though that is not really a concern...
I pull off first chance I have and come to a stop... I get out and get the hood up and am greeted by EVERYTHING covered in Red oil and a red puddle under the truck.

Well I found the culprit the Return hose from the cooler came off... it was clamped, I have been driving this thing daily for a year, since I got it really. and NEVER even a leak.. then Poof...

I managed to fix it on the side of the road but only had 2/3 qt of DEX/MERC ATF...

I put that in but still barely had PS, and no PB... I am a MAN so I can stop the truck and mostly steer as long as it is ROLLING. with my bad left shoulder the non PS SUCKS...

then a guy stops driving a shitbox hatchback, he says "YOU ALRIGHT? NEED TO GO GET ANYTHING???" I say I don't need parts but I sure could use some ATF! he says "I GOT SOME!" and goes back to his hatch back which he has to crawl back to unlatch then I had to lift the hatch.
he rummages around in the spare well where there was no spare but he had more weight in hand tools in the car than the car weighed alone...
he digs around and says THERE! GRabit! so I does... Engine oil... he rummages a little more and a yellow pint of PS fluid surfaces.. I grab it.
he then finds the quart of ATF..gives it too me. I say What do I owe you and he says Nothing!, Walk back and put most of the ATF in the PS, no filling while running this is old school the little reservoir with the twist cap under the radiator hose and alternator belt trio...

I get it filled an bled enough that I can drive it and he takes off like a shot. leaving behind a smell of pot...

I drive to Menards and get two quarts and some engine degreaser...
fill and bleed fill and bleed and rinse lather repeat until I have full steering and Braking.
then off to the carwash, the entire drivers side Tire, Suspension, Brake master, Hydraboost, Alternator inner and outer fender panel, hood, firewall washer fluid reservoir all of it is coated and dripping with fluid, was STILL dripping fluid when I got to the car wash.. I foamed it down and washed it with soap, sprayed some Bleche white on the windshield and hosed it with hot soapy and rinse...

then got back on the road.

God it is fun owning one of these!
While this was all going on I was conversing via messenger with a buddy who has a 998 I believe with hub seals that just went out.
I thumb typed full instructions on how to do those and sent him part numbers to use for MAC MOTORS...

We used the DuraVee as a yard dog today, moving the AirMog out of the shop where it has occupied a work stall for about two decades, got it close enough to reach through the temp door on the other end and pull it in with the 12K hydraulic winch, which it did without any trouble even though I did not pile any dirt up in front of the Conex box as I had planed so it had to drag the Unimog up over about a 9" lip, I did have to switch the winch into low range for that.

Edit, any of you Ham guys see anything interesting?

We hit the high 70s today and it was an awesome day, went bottle buttin around on the curvy county roads and clocked over 100 mi just cruising, instead of working like I should have been but I have been sick and that was a good enough excuse for me.
I did stop off and preview the monthly auction out at Amishville and picked up a radiator from ye ol radiator shop in Sinton for my 1955 Oliver.

Eric and I had a choice.

We could stay back and debate which type of radiator fluid makes my butt look big, or we could head out and adventure.

I lost the coin toss, and now I’ll never know.

We adventured in the mountains of Cali. Because of the recent “sky is falling drought conditions”, we were forced to water ford several streams that are usually as dry as bone.

Good times!

Mojave. Went with Eric/Hummer H1.

Good times!

Shook out the truck over 250 miles including hours of offroad trails, some at 50% up and down.
