I would be more concerned on what can brake 30k plus truck safely and reliably.
A deuce air over hydraulic stopping itself and 30k was not what is designed for minus an axle and 2 brake drums. Max towed spec on a m35 with no alteration is 10k.

A m939 series 5 ton or such with total air brakes would be my recommendation.

939series 5ton. Either a cut down M923 or an altered M931. NH250 and Allison 5speed automatic.

In stock form, it's easily up to it, so long as you're ok with slow.

In altered form, it really depends on just what was altered and how.

I've done this, from Freeport IL to Mountainair NM-
