As stated that is a 4 speed, you cannot go on how many holes are in the front bumper as the 4 speed R1s have three holes in the front bumper.
That pan is clearly a 4L80 (no real need to add the E as all 4L80s were Es) one other indication is the 4 speed R1s will have a 57xx,xxx or 67xx.xxx...
If you power cycle the TCM (completely remove the 24 and the 12V tap) then all DTCs should clear, if the light stays on when started but before driving then as RWH said the TCM is probably not seeing the engine running.
You should have nearly zero ohms between pin 2 of the crankshaft position...
Unfortunately GM has always been ruled by the need to have a "quiet" engine.
This is the reason for a cam chain on a V8 GM engine, to make it even worse they made it quieter by having nylon teeth on the cam gears, that is why they would fail at about 100K in the early gas motors, this is also...
It is not a matter of who makes it, the issue is common to all "kits" that use this design gas or diesel, the only alternative would be to build a type of gear drive with two gears one on the crank and one on the cam which is what all factory gear driven cams but for the two stroke diesels use...
As a general rule these kits that replace chains with gears are a failed venture.
They cause harmonic vibrations that end in failures like these and even breaking the drive end of the camshaft off.
If for some reason you want to run these a very good fluid damper is mandatory but does not...
One good tire story, I had a Venture Max, a Yamaha Venture Royal with a V-max engine, a 175 HP touring bike with cruise and a killer stereo, I could pull a pop up camper 120 MPH all day long only Pam had trouble keeping up with her 1000CC Virago because she did not have a windshield so I usually...
No, you've got me there, in my 67 years on this earth I have only paid someone else to do mechanical work for me 3-4 times usually because I was too busy and all but one bit me in the ass, the only one that did not was the 6L80 transmission build I had done for the Humvee project.
That does not...
I had a short conversation with Chris at Twisted Steel Performance, he has no dyno data on the engines he builds, only that some of his customers claim that it performs BETTER than a mildly tuned Dmax and pulls better than a Dmax, a mildly tuned Dmax will make 450-500HP and that platform will...
It was OK, it probably was comparable to a stock turbo diesel at highway speed, there is only about 30HP difference between the 6.2NA and the 6.5TD
That can only be improved to about 50 max and that still costs some money.
I sold that truck because it was just so disappointing, if I had it all...
Yes the transmission brake switch and the brake light switch are in the same unit, only separate and opposite the trans switch opens when you depress the brake.
If the light is working with the turn signal but not the brake AND the other (Left side) works in both the brake and turn then it is...
As far as I can remember that is all I did, I will have to look at the documents (if they are online) and see why you are having the issue.
You should have two opens and two closures per revolution on that sensor, since the cam turns at half the crankshaft speed that works out to one closure per...
I think RWH has already told you what the most likely fail point is, just because the selector is switching tanks does not mean it is connecting the fuel gauge correctly.
Some very basic electrical troubleshooting skills should give you an answer
99% chance that chip failed because something else let the smoke out not that it was operating too hot, besides adding a cooler will not help in a sealed environment with no outside air flow.
I don't think it is a high idle just allows it to keep running at idle until it warms up, if not working the engine will die instead of idling when cold,
IIRC it just advances the timing, why it is called a cold advance.
